A popular mainstay since his DOA debut in May 2009, Rockin’ Ricky Gibson is a blast
from the past (so to speak), a man in his early ‘20s who is inexplicably stuck in 1987.
Despite this delusion, Ricky has been able to “rock & roll” throughout his DOA career,
finding success especially in the tag ranks, winning the DOA Tag Titles twice with two
His debut match against G-Shock sparked a feud that lasted for several months and saw
Ricky face off not only with G-Shock in a series of fast paced showdowns, but his
Franchise Playas associate Dr. Kliever , not to mention G-Shock’s servant of sorts, The
Ricky Gibson’s first tag title reign with Draven Vargas (known as a tandem as “Rockin’
& Rollin’”) led to possibly his greatest feud in DOA. Frustrated after losing the Tag
Titles and annoyed at the presence of Ricky’s cousin, Bobby Gibson, Draven was
compelled to turn on his partner and quickly form a new alliance with “Loverboy” Nate
Andrews as The Left Coast Casanovas.
Ricky teamed with a variety of partners over the course of the next few months including
his cousin Bobby (who eventually vanished without a trace from DOA), and DeMarcus
James before settling on Patrick Large as his partner and taking on the moniker of “The
Rock & Roll Fantasy”.
Facing off in an array of bouts such as 6-man tags and Blindfold matches, The Rock &
Roll Fantasy met The Casanovas in a brutal Last Team Standing match that stole the
show at DOA Doomsday in August 2011. Their victory propelling them in the DOA Tag
rankings, Ricky & Pat had a hand in ousting The Honor Society (Jonas Albert Robinson
& Eric Right) from DOA before winning the DOA Tag Team Title from Ugly As Sin
(Big Ugly & J_SIN Sullivan) at Halloween Horrors in October 2011.
Defending the titles against any and all comers during their 4 month reign as champions,
Ricky & Pat lost the titles to The Illuminati in a 3-Team Elimination Match that also
included The J & E Experience in Keizer on March 2, 2012. Mutually agreeing to
dissolve The Rock & Roll Fantasy, Ricky Gibson has resumed his singles career and just
weeks after losing the Tag Title, took DOA Heavyweight Champion Ethan HD to the
limit in an extremely competitive match.
