July 22nd 2017 Portland OR 1st Match Gauntlet Match #1 Contender for DOA Grand Championship First Round - Dominik Hess vs. Eric Right The night started with the first round of the Gauntlet Match. Through the random drawing, Dominik Hess was the first entrant into the match. The second entrant turned out to be Eric Right. These two wasted no time is squaring off as each knew what the high stakes of the match were. Eventually Dominik would go for a high risk maneuver from the top rope would prove to be fatal as Eric would catch him with a stunner from the top. This would lead to Eric scoring the victory and advancing to the next round. Second Round - Eric Right vs. CJ Edwards The next entrant would be CJ Edwards and as soon as his music hit, Eric’s eyes were glued to the entrance, awaiting the sight of his all familiar opponent. Unfortunately for Eric, CJ was two steps ahead and snuck in through the crowd behind Eric. Eric would turn around only to see a fist flying at his face as CJ didn’t waste any time attacking the man who nearly blinded him with a fireball only a couple months prior. Unfortunately for CJ, his aggression couldn’t get him the win as Eric would roll CJ up with a handful of tights to steal the victory. CJ wasn’t done though just because he lost the match, he’d had enough of Eric’s crap and viciously attacked him after the match. After everything Eric had done CJ was determined to get revenge. CJ would beat Eric nearly unconscious and then top it off by delivering a devastating 450 splash from the top rope before finally returning to the back. Third Round - Eric Right vs. Draven Vargas The next entrant was Draven Vargas who wasn’t about to waste any time or an opportunity to get an easy win. Draven would slide into the ring and immediately pin an unconscious Eric Right to advance to the final round. Final Round - Draven Vargas vs. Dr. Luther The final entrant to the Gauntlet would be Dr. Luther which meant the final round of the Gauntlet would feature two fresh participants to battle for the #1 contendership. Draven and Luther would battle back and forth until Luther would catch Draven with a devastating DDT to pick up the victory and become the #1 contender to the DOA Grand Championship. 2nd Match DOA Tag-Team Championship Match The Co-Best (Damon James & Kellen Raeth W/ Al Tubbs Esq.) vs. The Chaos Theory (Drexl & Udo) Next up was the Tag-Team Championship match. This match had its moments of creepiness and comedy as at one point in the match Damon James started streaming the match live on his phone. Unfortunately for him and Kellen they wouldn’t be able to overcome their opponents as Drexl and Udo would get the victory and retain the Tag-Team Championships. 3rd Match DOA Pure Wrestling Championship Match Dr. Kliever vs. Julian Whyt In what was bound to be an awesome rematch from June these two were about to lay it all on the line and finally get an ending to the match that ended in a time limit draw. Dr. Kliever was more aggressive than ever with determination to win the title which drove Julian to push himself to his limits to defend it. The match would come to an exciting close as Julian would go for a springboard elbow only to have Kliever catch him in midair with the Autopsy and drive him forcefully into the mat scoring the victory and becoming the new DOA Pure Wrestling Champion. 4th Match Winner Gets MJ Caden Cassidy vs. Patrick Large Special Referee - MJ In the next match we would find out which member of the former group known as “The Thrupple” would continue to get MJ’s services, and MJ herself would be the one to decide as she was the special referee for the match. The match started off peacefully with a handshake between Caden and Patrick, but the friendliness between the two would dissolve quickly as determination to win would take over and anger and frustration would begin to surface. At one point in the match Draven Vargas, the former “High 5” partner of MJ and Patrick Large would make his way to ringside. He would then interfere in the match by striking Pat in the head with his Bible directly in front of MJ. MJ then grabbed the Bible and started admonishing Vargas until he appeared to “buy her off” with a sandwich he had placed inside the Bible. MJ would then low blow Cassidy allowing Patrick to hit Cassidy with the “Tight Fit” for the victory, revealing that this was a set up by Vargas, MJ, and Large to reform a version of the group known as “High 5”. 5th Match DOA Grand Championship Triple Threat Match Johnny Paradise vs. Wade Hess vs. Mike Santiago Next was the DOA Grand Championship Match featuring three of the best wrestlers in the Northwest. The three men would start the match off by taking turns sitting out while the other two locked up, it would eventually break down into a wilder match when all three members would start bringing the fight to each other. At one point in the match Hess would lock in a submission to both Santiago and Paradise at the same time to get them to both submit but to no avail. The match would come to a close as Paradise would knock Hess out and go for a cover which would prompt Kellen Raeth, Damon James, and Al Tubbs to come to ringside and pull the ref out of the ring during the count. Paradise would then slam the heads together of James and Raeth but the distraction would cost him as he’d turn around right into the knee of Santiago who would then pin Paradise to retain the Grand Championship. Main Event No Rope Lumberjack Match Ricky Gibson vs. Quiz Next it was time for the main event which was by far going to be the craziest match of the night. The ropes were taken down and the lumberjacks were brought to ringside, thus, the match was set. Once Quiz and Ricky got in the ring, it was pretty much an all-out war, not only between Ricky and Quiz, but between the lumberjacks as well. The two wrestlers would spend most of the time on the outside of the ring as chaos ensued, they would battle all around the arena even going to the concession stand and using whatever they could get their hands on to destroy each other with. At one point Quiz would climb a latter and Ricky would climb atop the fencing behind the stands and both men would fall into the sea of lumberjacks knocking almost everyone off their feet. Once everyone got back up, the concession table would be brought to ringside and set up only to have Quiz quickly run and jump onto the Four Minutes of Heat sending himself and the band crashing through the table. At this point many of the lumberjacks who were supporting Ricky started to flee the building as Quiz and his allies gained the advantage. Eventually Ricky would leave and the match would be thrown out as a result of the ensuing chaos and Quiz would deliver one final blow to the Four Minutes of Heat by giving a superkick to Billy Cole and launching him into his brother Sandy Cole, ending the night for himself on a high note while standing tall with his army.
