DOA Halloween Hysteria Results
Oct. 28th, 2017
Portland OR

1st Match
Singles Match
Nicholas Radford (W/Rusty Diamond) vs. Johnny Paradise

The show kicked off with the strange Purple Wizards making their way to the ring. They weren’t shy about showing off their Halloween spirit either, coming out in literal Purple Wizard attire, including a purple robe and purple wizard hat. Johnny Paradise would enter next bringing huge relief from the Purple Wizards to the fans as they welcomed him with cheers. The match would begin very technically with some mat-based, text book wrestling and would continue until Radford would roll out of the ring which would lead to Paradise jumping over the top rope right onto Radford. After throwing Nick back in, Paradise would attempt to follow but would be stopped as Rusty would grab his foot as he was getting in. The ref saw this and jumped out of the ring to admonish Rusty and as he was doing so, Radford would deliver a low blow to Paradise by kicking one of the ropes into his groin. This would lead to Radford gaining momentum in the match and beating Paradise down for the next few minutes. Paradise would turn it around though and just a Radford was going for the Backstabber, Paradise would counter with Gangsta’s Paradise for the victory.

2nd Match
DOA Tag-Team Championship
Tag-Team Match
The Voros Twins (Chris & Patrick) vs. The Higher 5 (Patrick Large & Sgt. Mike Everest W/ Sister Mary Jane)

Next up was a tag-team championship match featuring the returning Mike Everest giving an impressive edge for his team against the champions the Voros. However the Voros weren’t going to back down from a fight. They would gain the early advantage by using their skilled double team offense. They would continue their offense until Everest would turn the tables using his size to take the Voros out. The Voros would struggle to regain offense for the next few minutes. Just as they finally started to regain control Mary Jane would hop onto the apron to distract them, but this would ultimately lead to their loss. Large would attempt to hit the distracted Voros from behind but they would move causing Pat to almost hit Mary Jane, he would stop short only to be drop kicked into her anyway. Everest would be taken out and the Voros would hit their pop-up double knee on Large and pin him to gain the victory to retain their tag-team championships.

3rd Match
Singles Match
Eric Right vs. Wade Hess

The next contest was a hard hitting slug-fest between two of DOA’s veterans. These two fought each other hard, not holding anything back. You’d think one of them owed the other a bunch of money, but that wasn’t the case here. At one point, Eric got the massive Wade Hess up on the top rope and delivered a devastating superplex, nearly collapsing the ring. The fight would eventually spill to the outside and the two would battle away from the ring fighting over near the merchandise table. They would attempt to re-enter the ring but would fail to reach it resulting in the referee counting to 10 and both men being disqualified. The match would end in a no contest but that wouldn’t stop them from slugging it out. Hess and Right would fight out of the ring, up the entrance, and right through the curtain, never stopping the fists from flying in each other’s direction.

4th Match
DOA Pure Wrestling Championship
Triple Threat Match
Julian Whyt vs. CJ Edwards vs. Quiz

This was an extremely fun match to watch. Not only were the three participants of the match good athletes, but Quiz and CJ decided to enter the match in full Halloween spirit. Quiz came out dressed up as Sub-Zero from the Mortal Kombat franchise and CJ came out as an assassin from the Assassin’s Creed franchise. The match featured a combination of great athletics, high-flying moves, and hilarious Mortal Kombat style theatrics. In the end though this was still a championship match and the competitors didn’t forget that. The end of the match featured numerous near falls that had the audience on edge as to whom would take home the title. Eventually Julian would hit CJ with a devastating flying forearm and cover him for pinfall, retaining the Pure Championship.

5th Match
15-Man Trick-or-Treat Rumble

Participant Entry Order:

  1. Dr. Kliever
  2. Dominik Hess
  3. Rook Kelly
  4. Caden Cassidy
  5. Kaine Jaiden
  6. Todd Royce
  7. Eddie Pearl
  8. Marcus Malone
  9. Schaff
  10. Udo
  11. Eddie VanGlam
  12. Billy Pearl
  13. Kevin Cook
  14. The Great Pumpkin
  15. Phlex Walker

Winners: The 4 Minutes of Heat (Eddie VanGlam, Eddie Pearl, and Billy Pearl)

The three members of Ricky’s band were the final three participants in the rumble and rather than fighting each other they proclaimed themselves all as co-winners of the match.

6th Match
Tag-Team Match
Sinn Bodhi & “Ravenous” Randy Myers vs. Drexl & Dr. Luther

The next match marked the debut of the one and only Sinn Bodhi in a DOA ring. After the shocking turn of both Drexl and Dr. Luther last month, “Ravenous” Randy turned to a partner that he knew would bring the same crazy and eerie fighting style that Luther and Drexl bring. The team of Bodhi and Myers would start off strong against Drexl and Luther, not only out-wrestling them but using their unique styles to humiliate them which garnered some laughs from the fans. It didn’t take long though for Luther and Drexl to end the fun that Bodhi and Myers were having at their expense. They began a vicious beat down on Myers which lasted several minutes. Eventually Myers would get the tag to Bodhi who would come in and clean house, taking the fight to both Drexl and Luther. Unfortunately for Bodhi though, the dirty tactics of Drexl and Luther would get the best of him. Drexl would be knocked out of the ring and would then proceed to grab his spike while he was on the floor. As Bodhi tried to get him back into the ring, Drexl would nail Bodhi with the spike effectively taking him out of the match. Randy would see this and would dodge Drexl’s attack by delivering a shoulder Drexl’s gut causing him to fall off the apron back to the floor. Drexl, however, was able to toss the spike to Luther before he fell. Randy not knowing this would turn around only to be nailed by Luther and pinned giving the victory to Drexl and Luther. The crazy duo weren’t happy with just winning the match though, afterwards they decided to beat down the already beaten Myers and Bodhi. After a few minutes and a couple double team moves later, Drexl and Luther would finally leave the building, leaving Myers and Bodhi lying unconscious in the middle of the ring. Referees would then run out to the aid of Bodhi and Myers and help them to the back.

Main Event
DOA Grand Championship
No Holds Barred Match
Ethan HD vs. Mike Santiago

The main event was the match that everyone had been waiting to see, two former partners who had dominated the Northwest tag-team division for years finally squaring off against each other for the grandest championship in the Northwest. To make things even more interesting, nothing was going to stop these two from doing whatever they wanted to each other, not even rules. Santiago knew that with the No Holds Barred stipulation added to the match, his trusty “tag-partner” Phil the shovel could aid him as much as he’d like throughout the battle. Ethan HD wouldn’t be deterred by Phil’s presence though and came out strong to face Santiago with his head and title held high, confident he would be leaving with his championship. Once the bell rung these two didn’t take long to get into it. After some intense stares the fight was on, and just like the stipulation of the match, they didn’t hold anything back. Throughout the course of the match these two would empty their arsenal on each other, even digging into each other’s arsenals and stealing some of their opponent’s signature moves. However, the downfall of Santiago in this match would ironically be caused by Phil, Santiago’s shovel. Santiago would grab Phil in an attempt to use the shovel against Ethan. Ethan would in turn counter the use of the shovel and use to nail Mike in the stomach. This would lead to a series of devastating moves to Mike including being DDT’d on the championship, receiving a 450 splash, and finally being curb stomped which would lead to Ethan HD pinning mike and retaining the DOA Grand Championship.

UPDATE: Since this match a couple weeks ago, Mike Santiago and Phil have not spoken to each other. Santiago fully blames Phil for the loss of his match against Ethan HD.
