DOA 9th Anniversary Results
Sept 30th 2017 Portland OR 1st Match Tag-Team Match 4 Minutes Of Heat (Eddie VanGlam & Eddie Pearl w/ Billy Pearl) vs. The Northwest Express (Marcus Malone & Phlex Walker) DOA’s 9th Anniversary kicked off strong with a tag-team match involving four of the hottest up and coming wrestlers in the Northwest. 4 Minutes Of Heat came out first to an eruption of boos. The energy in the room quickly changed though as fan favorites Marcus Malone and Phlex Walker made their presence in the arena. Phlex and Malone controlled the early stages of the match and dominated the Heat with near perfect double team chemistry. The match quickly spilled to the outside as Eddie Pearl would do an amazing flip over the top rope onto Phlex and VanGlam followed by Malone doing an even bigger flip onto all three of them. The match would turn around though as Eddie Pearl would pull Marcus’s feet out from underneath him sending his face into the ring apron. The Heat dominated the next few minutes of the match beating Marcus down and nearly scoring some match ending pin falls in the process. Eventually Marcus would get the tag to Phlex in which Phlex would dominate both members of The Heat single handedly. Eventually the match would come to an end as Phlex would powerbomb his partner onto the chest of Eddie Pearl and cover him for the victory. 2nd Match Singles Match Sister Mary Jane (W/ Patrick Large & Draven Vargas) vs. Kate Carney The next was a contest 3 ½ years in the making. Kate Carney would battle Mary Jane, the same person she had her very first match with in January 2014. The match started off controversially as Pat and Draven would hop up on the ring apron and distract the referee which would allow Mary Jane to attack Kate from behind and choke her illegally for an extended period of time. Eventually Caden Cassidy would make his way to the ring and pull Pat and Draven off the ring apron which would cause an argument between the three members of Higher 5 and Cassidy. Kate would then knock Mary Jane off the apron onto Cassidy, Large and Vargas then proceed to dive onto all of them knocking everyone off their feet. Cassidy, Large, & Vargas would battle to the back leaving Kate & Mary Jane to battle the match 1-on-1. The match would go back and forth with both women hitting each other with amazing moves that would land near pin falls left and right. At one point Kate would show her strength and catch Mary Jane in midair from a cross body off the top and slam her to the mat. The match would come to a close as Mary Jane would be thrown into the referee’s groin area causing him to collapse down to the mat. During this time Kate would role Mary Jane up but to no avail as the ref was not able to make the count. Kate would proceed to help the ref up and as she was doing so Mary Jane would take advantage and roll her up for the 3 count. As Kate left the ring she would receive an emotional goodbye from the fans in attendance as this would be her last match in the Pacific Northwest. 3rd Match Lucha Volcanica Light Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match Kaine Jaiden vs. Guillermo Rosas vs. El Sonico The next match was about as fast paced as a match can get with three of the Northwest’s best light heavyweights battling for the Lucha Volcanica Light Heavyweight Championship. These three guys did flips, slams, submissions, and even defied gravity just to hold the crown of best light heavyweight in the Northwest. El Sonico would eventually pick up the victory, and retain the championship. However, he wasn’t finished yet. He proceeded to attack Kaine Jaiden in an uncalled for post-match beat down, causing the fans to deliver an onslaught of boos in his direction as he left the building. 4th Match DOA & ECCW Championship Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag-Team Match The Cunninghams (Jack & Carl) vs. The Voros Twins (Chris & Patrick) vs. Higher 5 (Draven Vargas & Patrick Large) vs. The Chaos Theory (Drexl & Udo) The next match was for both the DOA and ECCW Tag-Team Championships, meaning the winners would be international champions as they would rule the Tag-Team Division of Oregon’s DOA promotion and British Columbia’s ECCW promotion. With eight people being involved in the beginning of the match, it was almost impossible for the referee to maintain complete control. There were goofy shenanigans from the Voros, and nipple shenanigans from Chaos Theory. However, the comedy would soon come to an end as there seemed to be some dissention happening between Drexl and Udo. At one point Udo called Drexl in for a double team move on Large but Drexl refused and yelled at Udo to take care of Large himself. A few minutes later Udo would attempt to tag Drexl but Drexl would abandon him in the match which would lead to Udo being hit with a Bible by Large resulting in The Chaos Theory’s elimination. The next team to go moments later would be Higher 5 as the Voros Twins would use their Twin advantage on Pat and score the pinfall on him. This would leave the current ECCW Tag-Team Champions The Voros Twins, and The Cunningham’s who up until this point had very little involvement in the match. These two teams would leave nothing on the table as they tried to crown themselves double champions. In the end, The Voros would hit a double splash from opposite corners on “Big” Jack to score the pinfall and become international tag-team champions. 5th Match Last Man Standing Match Eric Right vs. CJ Edwards This match started off hot as the history behind this match was more personal than any match on the card. These two didn’t pull any punches as they each had one mission: beat the other one down so bad that they can’t answer a ten count by the ref. It didn’t take long for the match to spill out of the ring, as these two took their fight all over the building. At one point Eric was launched into a cage that was propped against a wall, then afterwards CJ proceeded to “shoot some hoops” as they were battling directly underneath a basketball hoop and there happened to be a rack of basketballs nearby. CJ aimed the balls perfectly and made sure every one of them hit Eric right in the head. He then hit an amazing slam dunk/hurricanranna combination on Eric which made the crown cheer in amazement. The match would return to the ring, but unfortunately CJ’s momentum would come to an end as Eric would nail him with a devastating piledriver. CJ would get back to his feet just before the count of ten, throwing Eric off guard and hitting him with a springboard cutter. Both men would then get up and CJ would nail a second springboard cutter which Eric would unsuccessfully get up from resulting in CJ defeating Eric and finally getting his revenge. 6th Match 6-Man Tag-Team Match Damon James (W/ Al Tubbs Esq.), Nick Radford (W/ Rusty Diamond), & Schaff vs. Johnny Paradise & The Hess Dynasty (Wade & Dominik) The next match would feature Damon James and Nick Radford teaming up with a new wrestler in the Northwest, a man by the name of Schaff. Schaff had one thing on his mind going into this match and that was to make a name for himself in front of a new audience, even if it meant teaming with a bazaar duo like James and Radford. However, the Hess’ and Paradise weren’t about to just lay down for the new comer, they took the fight to all three men equally. These six men pulled everything out of their arsenal to defeat the other team, even leaving their feet to go airborne on a couple occasions. Near the end of the match Rusty Diamond decided to interfere only to have his face nearly kicked off by Dominik Hess. Shortly afterward, Wade Hess would hit a devastating driver on Schaff to pick up the victory for his team. After the match was over, Damon and Tubbs found themselves cornered in the ring with all three members of the opposing team. Rather than face the men though, James would throw Tubbs to the wolves and high tail it out of the building, leaving Tubbs to take a final beating from Paradise, Wade, and Dominik. 7th Match Pure Championship 2 Out Of 3 Falls Match Julian Whyt vs. Dr. Kliever The next match featured two men who had a long rivaled history with each other battling over the Pure Championship. They were going to get to continue their rivalry for one more night and finally prove who was better in a best 2 out of 3 falls match. The first two falls would be given 10 minute time limits, and if necessary, the third would have no time limit, as there had to be a winner. These two didn’t waste any time though starting off strong against each other. The first ten minutes flew by and the time limit would soon play into Julian’s favor. Doc would hit him with a massive t-bone style suplex, but as he was going to cover Julian the bell would ring, ending the first fall in a draw. This didn’t sit well with Doc and as the second fall began he would take his frustrations out on Julian. Julian would eventually come back and these two would battle back and forth throughout the second fall, but as time was nearing the 10 minute mark Doc would lock a devastating arm bar on Whyt. It looked as if Whyt was mere seconds from tapping when the bell rang and once again saved Whyt from losing thus ending the second fall in another draw due to the time limit expiring. The third fall was much more high impact as these two knew this was their last chance to get a victory and walk out with the championship. With high impact slams being delivered and near fall after near fall, Whyt would eventually find himself in a position to ascent the top rope and hit the Phoenix Splash on Kliever, pinning him and crowning himself once again the Pure Wrestling Champion. Main Event War Games Ethan HD, Quiz, “Ravenous” Randy Myers, & Dr. Luther vs. Mike Santiago, Ricky Gibson, Vinnie Massaro, & Drexl If anyone came to the show looking for chaos and brutality, this was the match they came to see. The ring was enclosed in a steel cage with barbed wire lining the top. This meant that there was no climbing over the top. Once you were in, you were in, or you’d risk slicing yourself to the bone trying to escape. The match would begin with Quiz and Ricky Gibson in the ring. It didn’t take long for the weapons to come into play as moments into the match Quiz would remove his belt and start beating Ricky with it, nearly lacerating his skin and leaving welts all over his back. This beat down would continue for the better part of five minutes until Mike Santiago would be introduced as the next entrant into the match. Of course he didn’t come alone as Phil, his handy shovel, was right there with him. With the odds now in Santiago and Ricky’s favor, the beat on Quiz would begin. It didn’t take long for them to utilize the barbed wire as they would drag Quiz to the outside of the ring and force his face right into it, slicing his forehead open and drawing first blood of the match. As the beat down of Quiz was happening, Ethan HD would be the next entrant into the match, going straight after former American Gunz partner Mike Santiago. For the next few minutes the four men would battle it out violently in the ring until the favor was once again shifted to Santiago’s team when Vinnie Massaro would emerge as the next entrant into the match. The 3-on-2 beat down of Ethan’s team would continue until “Ravenous” Randy would join the contest, evening out the sides. The next and final entrant for Mike’s team moments later would be Drexl, who earlier in the night had abandoned his Chaos Theory partner Udo. Drexl didn’t come to the ring empty handed though, he brought a chain and lock with him which he immediately used to nearly knock Ethan HD unconscious as soon as he entered the cage. He would then proceed to lock the cage door meaning the final entrant, Dr. Luther, who would come out moments later wouldn’t be able to enter the match and rescue his team from the beat down they were receiving. Eventually the owner of the company Terry Farness would grab some bolt cutters and cut the chain finally allowing Luther to enter the match. Luther would immediately go after Drexl as he tried to escape over the top of the cage through the barbed wire. Ravenous Randy would grab Drexl’s feet and pull him down which would result in Drexl slicing his head on the barbed wire. Drexl would make his way back into the ring with blood gushing from his head and was choked slammed by Randy as Luther would then grab a steel chair and enter the ring after Drexl. Just then Luther would swing the chair full force in the direction of Drexl, however, to the shock of everyone in the building, he would nail Randy in the head knocking him unconscious. He would then follow it up by hitting Quiz with the chair, nearly bending it around his skull and effectively taking two of his own partners out of the match. Santiago would then capitalize on a stunned and beaten down Ethan HD by hitting him with a knee to his face, thus knocking him out and coving him to end the match and score the victory for his team. Drexl and Luther would end the show by continuing the beatdown on the 3 fallen hero's as Luther threathtend the fans saying He and Drexl would stand at each exit and bitch slap every as they left just for being stupid. The Unholy duo of Drexl and Luther then walked out in unison leaving the fans shocked and Randy, Quiz, and Ethan beaten and bloodied in the middle of the ring.
