It's always better to presell tickets. That's the only way you can really predict how many people will support your show. I guess it had very little to do with wanting to support people. If it's boring, no one would buy it no matter how many advocates or good cause any organizer claim to have helped for a particular event. Producers should focus more on making a good show.
