DOA Pro Wrestling "Star Spangled Showdown"

July 9th 2016 6pm
Wattles Boys and Girls Club
9330 SE Harold st Portland OR

Excitement was in the air as DOA Pro Wrestling returned to the Wattles Boys and Girls Club in SE Portland
for Star Spangled Showdown as we would see the crowning of the inaugural DOA Grand Champion in the fatal 4 way main event.

Match 1
The Opening match saw DOA mainstay Dr. Kliever take on the newest graduate of the Buddy Wayne Academy B.A. Holloway. Holloway looked great in his first DOA singles match taking it to the Veteran Kliever with great stiff forearms, decapitating dropkicks and a rare quickness for such a big guy. But in the end the veteran Kliever was victorious after a quick lowbrow then a huge autopsy that launched Holloway 7-8 feet in the air onto the back of his head.

After the match the doctor with the worst bedside manner demanded a mic and highjacked the show demanding more competition but only if they were championship quality saying he should be in the main event 4 way for the Grand Championship. Out of know where Kliever was interrupted by a song we haven't heard in over a year, as Nate Andrews returned to DOA!

Impromptu Match 2
A shocked Dr Kliever was rocked off balance by the former multi time champion Andrews, as Nate bounced Kliever from pillar to post. Always the opportunist the good Doctor took advantage of overzealous frenzied offense of Nates and slowed down the pace punishing Andrews. But in the end of numerous 2 3/4 counts Nate Andrews was victorious after 2 huge 180 degree float around splashes

Match 3
Johnny Paradise has been on the hunt for HBQ's pure championship and at DOA Best of the Best interrupted and caused a no contest in the stellar fan favorite HBQ vs Eric Right Pure Championship Bout. HBQ and Eric Right told Paradise to find a partner if he could cause no one in the DOA locker room liked him and if he could beat the pairing of Quiz and Right then he would get a shot at the pure title. Maybe they were right cause Paradise's partner wasn't from the DOA Locker room it was Erick Locker a former multi time OVW champion who's wrestled across the country.

Right and Quiz started off hot and heavy lighting up the pairing of Paradise and Locker but the bigger duo came back laying out HBQ and cutting him off from his partner. No matter how big the shot or impact Quiz kept fighting back until eventually tagging in Right. The Gentlemen Brawler rocked Locker with lefts and rights trying to lock in his sleeper. Double teamed by Paradise and Locker Right got ahold of his granny's tonic and shot back eventually locker but as Eric went to lock Paradise in the sleeper Hbq came in from the other side of the ring with his flying knee and Johnny moved as Quiz knocked out his own partner by accident. Paradise pinned Right and secured his chance at the pure championship.

Match 4
Pat Large had a big challenge ahead as he faced off with the big bad debuting Caden Cassidy. Cassidy impressed the DOA office as he man handled Large around the ring with repeated clubbing blows and gut rocking knees. With the crowd firmly in his corner Pat scored the victory out of nowhere with a sunset flip. A stunned and angered Cassidy attacked Pat after the bell and even shoved DOA official Clint Griffith as he tried to control the situation. Caden on a rampage tried to take Referee Griffiths head off but missed and ended up being double clotheslined  over the top top by Pat and Clint.

Match 5
The flashback feature match saw 2 of the best in the Pacific Northwest Mike Santiago vs CJ Edward. Both men did exactly what we knew they would and wooed the crowd in a show stealing performance. From technical holds to high flying action, to hard hitting no-nonsense striking the match had it all. After 15 minutes of the best action going in Portland Mike Santiago was victorious pinning Edwards for the 3

Match 6
The Purple Wizards returned to creep out the audience dawning venetian masks and their germaphobic rubber suites and gloves as Nick Radford would take on a mystery opponant  brought in by the Human Horror Show Drexl. Looking for revenge for the attack by the wizards when the stole Drexl's golden spike the self proclaimed Devil himself unleashed a nightmare upon Radford and Diamond in the form of the 400 pound American Wrecker Skag Rollins.

Nick and Rusty ran and tried to avoid the much larger Rollins but were eventually cornered as Skag Chopped Punched Kicked slammed and even took a Selfie with Radford out on the floor and around the Club. Rusty sprayed his disinfecting spray in Rollins eye's and gave Nick the advantage for a short time but he couldn't keep the Wrecker down as Rollins made it back to his feet and broke Radford in half with a huge swing out backbreaker. Just as the ref was about to count 3 Rusty rushed in and broke up the count but was immediately attacked Drexl who was in Skags corner and tired of the 2 on one shenanigans. Nick and Rusty escaped to the back but not before Drexl and Skag declared one way or another the Wizards were gonna have to fight them
Skag Rollins vs Nick Radford No Contest

Match 7
The returning DOA Tag Team Champion Cunninghams were at their best last night against the team of Kassius Koonz and King Khash. In a match that saw superb technical skills and hard hitting brawling Big Jack and Karl the Catch used their tag team experience hitting a huge Cunningslam on Koonz and just as Khash was about to break up the pin Mike Santiago appeared out of nowhere pulling King from the ring and laying him out with a massive roaring elbow.

Match 8
The enlightened Draven Vargas came spread his word of the higher power as he took on Magic Dragon #1 who was accompanied by his exact duplicate Magic Dragon #2. Although the Dragons swapped places several times it was Draven Vargas with help from his Good Book knocking out Magic Dragon #1..we think. Pat Large and Mj stormed the ring and Pat rocked Draven causing him to retreat with out his book. Pat opened the "Good Book" and inside was a huge metal hook that was being used to load the Book up for the knock out blow. As Mj checked on the Dragons something strange happened as it looked like the Dragons took a liking to MJ in the same way a pet would as they both clung to MJ's legs and looked up in amazement at her.

Match 9
In the Main Event it was 4 of the best in the Pacific Northwest battled for not 1 belt but 2 as both the DOA Heavyweight and Pacific Northwest Championships were on the line to crown the very first DOA Grand Champion. From the start Wade Hess was on a mission to destroy Ethan HD the man who laid him out to close out DOA Best of the Best. Jonas Albert Robinson and Chris Riddick spilled to the floor and battled thru out the building hit hard several times on the gymnasium floor. With both Jonas and Riddick laid out on the outside Wade Hess fought back from a Ethan HD Curbstomp and hit not 1 but 2 one arm angel wing drivers and just as he was about to get the 3 count Kassius Koonz and King Khash pulled the referee out of the ring. As official Zack Farness tried to throw out Koonz and Khash with the help of all the other referee's Kassius and the King began throwing ref's everywhere as Koonz grabbed Wade Hess's son referee Dominick Hess (aka Dick Champagne) throwing him first into the post and then picking him up and delivering a sickening version of a blue thunder bomb onto the ring apron. As a stunned Wade Hess looked on at the destruction of his son Ethan HD capitalized and delivered a huge curb stomp off the ropes to get the 1,2,3 and become the first DOA Grand Champion.
